There’s nothing more frustrating than starting a workout and realizing the tracking isn’t quite right. The good news? With just a few small tweaks to your setup, you can dramatically improve your Fittar experience. A bit of preparation goes a long way in making sure every movement counts.
Make sure camera access is enabled
First things first: your device needs permission to use the camera. Without it, the system simply can’t track your movements. Double-check your settings to ensure everything is enabled before you begin.
Set up good lighting
Lighting plays a big role in accurate tracking. A well-lit space helps the camera see your body clearly, making detection more reliable. Natural daylight works great, but an evenly lit room or a lamp without harsh shadows is just as effective. Try to avoid any direct light aimed at the camera lens, as that can cause glare and reduce tracking quality.
Position your phone properly
The placement of your phone affects how well your movements are captured. Ideally, place it just below hip height, directly in front of you, and far enough away so your entire body, from head to toe, fits in the frame. A stable phone holder helps keep the image steady throughout your session. We’ve tested several and recommend one that offers a good balance of price and quality.

Ensure a strong internet connection
A steady internet connection helps everything run smoothly, from tracking data to feedback. A weak signal can cause delays or disruptions during your session. If possible, use Wi-Fi and make sure your connection is stable before you start.
Keep the frame focused on you
For the best results, make sure you're the only person visible in the camera frame. Other people or movements in the background can confuse the system and affect your tracking accuracy.
Perform full and correct movements
Fittar’s technology works best when exercises are completed fully and with good form. At the beginning of each workout, we show you exactly how the movement should be done, take a moment to watch and mirror the example. It helps ensure your reps are counted and your results stay on track.
Taking a minute to prep your setup can make your training smoother, more effective, and more enjoyable. It’s a small effort with a big payoff.
